ArtCar Drive-In Participant Info:

Itinterary for the weekend:

Friday September 14th 7pm- Welcome party at Charles Linville's house. Not just any house party. This house requires that you pass though a metal detector and have your phobia about stuffed poodles under control. The powerful and badass Last Regiment of Syncopated Drums
http://www.lastregiment.com/ will be making an appearance out front and Chuck will be showing obscure car movies in the basement viewing lounge.

Saturday September 15th 10am- Brunch at the always friendly Beaterville Cafe. For those unfamiliar with Beaterville, you are in for a car-themed delight.
12pm noon- Parade line-up time on Alberta street. After the parade, we will be parallel parked along Alberta and are welcome to sell arts and crafts as well as check out all the cool grassroots artists The Alberta Arts Council works so hard to protect and encourage.
6pm- ArtCar caravan from Alberta to Foster to crash Extremo the Clown's collaborative "Ghost" art exhibition.
10pm- Providing you are still up for adventure, there will be a guerilla drive-in movie in the warehouse district. Secret details are still in the works.

Sunday HIGH NOON- As a final "Huzzah!" there will be a scavenger hunt through some of the more interesting places in Portland. Great if you would like a tour of the city, and great if you want to attract the attention of Sunday hipsters on the street. Maps will be passed out to those who show up at Chuck's house.

August's Third Thursday

Third Thursday Rocked Because of Us

It started late, of course. Kerry, who originally invited us to her gallery "Quirks of Art and Furniture" was asking Victor where everyone was. I was ecstatic to see a decent group of cars- I'd been fretting over the possibility of being the lone artcar, sitting in my lawn chair with a full cooler of beer and no one to share it with. But I will not underestimate the power of vehicular vanity and good old comradeship again. It was fun and not too long, and for the most part, a good chance to chat with each other and passers by. There will be more photos posted as soon as I can. I got good documentation on all vehicles, so thanks for posing for me.

In attendance:
Gaia- debuting her new work- the most intricate and gorgeous stuff I've seen in a long time
Marci and her pet hair and Tiki Gods in the back seat
Victor displaying his finely painted crow and kitty death card
Chuck, who circled around a while in his Danger car
Beater Bill and Nan who made me eat sunflower seeds- he added a huge dorsal fin to his car
Me! Emily and my sisters who were visiting from Utah

Sounds like you had a good time! I like Marci's hair. reminds me of the B-5's Hey! you posted the Steven Bloch photo, cool! I just got a call from KING 5 NEWS in Seattle. They said they are running a news story from Evening Magazine of me a couple years back, over again. I forgot to ask when though, ha ha ha!
