Itinterary for the weekend:

Friday September 14th 7pm- Welcome party at Charles Linville's house. Not just any house party. This house requires that you pass though a metal detector and have your phobia about stuffed poodles under control. The powerful and badass Last Regiment of Syncopated Drums http://www.lastregiment.com/ will be making an appearance out front and Chuck will be showing obscure car movies in the basement viewing lounge.

Saturday September 15th 10am- Brunch at the always friendly Beaterville Cafe. For those unfamiliar with Beaterville, you are in for a car-themed delight.
12pm noon- Parade line-up time on Alberta street. After the parade, we will be parallel parked along Alberta and are welcome to sell arts and crafts as well as check out all the cool grassroots artists The Alberta Arts Council works so hard to protect and encourage.
6pm- ArtCar caravan from Alberta to Foster to crash Extremo the Clown's collaborative "Ghost" art exhibition.
10pm- Providing you are still up for adventure, there will be a guerilla drive-in movie in the warehouse district. Secret details are still in the works.

Sunday HIGH NOON- As a final "Huzzah!" there will be a scavenger hunt through some of the more interesting places in Portland. Great if you would like a tour of the city, and great if you want to attract the attention of Sunday hipsters on the street. Maps will be passed out to those who show up at Chuck's house.

Demand for ArtCars Increases Dramatically

September 8th & 9th: Long Beach Classic Cruise Crash

Open invite for artcars who want to wave their freak flags at the 300+ classic car owners as they convene in Long Beach, Washington for a huge uppity show. Chuck usually gets called a homophobic epithet, which makes for good entertainment anytime. Scot and his Carpenter karaoke caused a rubbernecking accident when we decided to park by the side of the road and have our own car show. Chuck's got a beach house there, so at the end of the night, there's a place you can crash after the crash.
Also of interest: there is usually a smattering of garage sales going on that weekend and a race track if you want to pretend you are an Indy 500 driver for a while. The beach is a block from Chuck's house.

September 15th: ArtCars Come to Alberta Street Fair

The Portland ArtCar Revival Club announces the biggest art car gathering in Portland since the Hawthorne Street Fair in 1998. Almost a decade of scattered obscurity in Portland will be shattered when local car artists as well as regional artists from as far away as Vancouver, BC will bring their personal works of drivable art to the Alberta Street Fair for the public to view in wonder and awe. After watching our cars in the Alberta parade, come visit them on display along Alberta Street. Thanks to the Alberta Street Council for facilitating our spectacle of shocking, thrilling, overwhelming stimulation!
